Available Scholarships

Robert A. Davis Memorial Scholarship

Robert A. Davis, Class of 1960, became a national hero after he sacrificed his life for his comrades in the Ia Drang Valley Battle in Vietnam.  His life and service to others is honored through this scholarship that reflects “Bobby’s” dedication to family, nature, friends and farming.

Hopewell Scholarship

This scholarship was created and funded by two Oxford Area School District Alumni who wanted to give back to their alma mater. This was set up to recognize an outstanding senior graduating from Oxford Area High School who will be pursuing a four year degree at an accredited college or university. The recipient of this scholarship will receive $40,000 spread over four years as long as a 3.0 average is maintained in their studies.  The Hopewell Scholarship is one of the largest single scholarships awarded in the district.  Selected OEF members review the application and examine the scholastic successes, extracurricular activities, and essays submitted by all candidates.  Several applicants are then recommended for the donor’s final decision.

Marion James and Anna Ressler Hess Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is designated for an education major.

Doris and Ellsworth McAllister Memorial Scholarship

It was a point of pride for Doris and Ellsworth McAllister that all eight children were able to continue their education after high school. To honor their memory, the family presents a $500 scholarship.

Gene and Louise Rahll Scholarship

Gene Rahll, Oxford Area High School (OAHS) 1946 graduate, grew up on the family dairy farm in Oxford.  Gene has never forgotten his roots in Oxford.

The Gene and Louise Rahll Scholarship was established to provide an opportunity for two Oxford area seniors to continue his or her education after graduating from high school. The donors encourage an application by those who intend to pursue post-secondary education. Applicants may pursue a 4 year college program, a two year program, a community college degree or a program at an accredited trade school.  The scholarship winners will be selected based upon his or her academic record and completed application.

Younger Family Scholarship

Alvin Younger, a graduate of Oxford High School was the first in his family to receive a college degree. The Oxford Educational Foundation is pleased to assist Elizabeth Mallalieu Younger (Class of 1967) in creating a scholarship in memory of her husband, Alvin Younger (Class of 1967).  Mrs. Younger created the scholarship to honor the Younger family’s commitment to higher education. The scholarship is available to a senior with a 2.8 GPA who wishes to pursue a four year college degree. Special consideration is given to applicants who are the first in their family to continue their education beyond the high school level.
